A certificate of insurance is a document, either electronic or physical, which shows that you have a valid and active business insurance policy. Companies or individuals may ask you for this documentation so that if something goes wrong, they know your insurance will pay for the resulting expenses. Most certificates are ACORD forms, sometimes referred to as “ACORD certificates.”
